The Ministry of Industry and Trade cooperates with Samsung to support businesses in developing smart factories

The project to support smart factory development is being collaborated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung with the goal of supporting 50 businesses and training 100 experts.

October 20, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Industry Agency – Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with Samsung to organize a launching ceremony of the smart factory development cooperation program for businesses participating in the program in the Southern region.

This program aims to realize the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung Group (Korea) on cooperation in implementing the “Smart Factory Development Cooperation Project” at 50 enterprises and training 100 Vietnamese professionals in the field of smart factory consulting for 2 years (2022 – 2023).

Mr. Le Xuan Tho – Acting Director of the Technical Center for Industrial Development Support in the Southern Region, Vietnam Industry Agency – said: In 2022, Samsung has coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to support the training of 51 experts in the smart factory field in Vietnam. Along with that, consulted on smart factory development for 26 businesses nationwide, including 14 businesses in the North and 12 businesses in the South.

The program brings much in-depth knowledge, helping to improve the professional capabilities of the team of domestic consultants while also supporting the improvement of production operations capacity on the information technology platform of the enterprise. The positive response and participation from the business community is the premise for the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue implementing the program in 2023 and the following years.

“The program not only imparts knowledge but also inspires action. We will learn how to take advantage of industrial revolution 4.0 technologies, optimize production processes, improve productivity, and improve product quality” – Mr. Le Xuan Tho expressed.

Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Jang Yoon Ho – Director of Partner Support Department – Samsung Electronics – emphasized: This program is a good opportunity for businesses to improve their professional capacity in the field of digital transformation and smart factories. Thereby contributing to helping Vietnamese businesses compete in production.

“Through this project, Vietnamese businesses will be equipped with competitiveness according to global standards for the entire process as well as product development, production, and sales. From there, expanding opportunities to participate in the supply chain of Samsung and businesses around the world” – Mr. Jang Yoon Ho committed.

Appreciating the cooperation program between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung to train digital transformation experts and develop smart factories, Mr. Do Phuoc Tong – Chairman of the Board of Members of Duy Khanh Mechanical Company – participating enterprise in the program to sign an agreement to support consulting on smart factory development – emphasizing: This is a special and important opportunity for businesses; At the same time, it is a milestone marking a turning point in improving the competitiveness and performance of businesses in the Southern region.

Also, at the ceremony of the Technical Center for Industrial Development Support in the Southern Region, Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. and 12 businesses signed an agreement to support consulting in smart factory development. The signed agreement aims to provide business support services and technical guidance for businesses to assist and advise on smart factory development.

Previously, on September 18, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Industry Agency coordinated with Samsung to organize the opening of course 4, a cooperation program to train to improve the quality of digital transformation experts for supporting industrial enterprises in the Southern region.

The training program for digital transformation experts, course 4, has 36 students from mechanical, packaging companies…, lecturers from colleges, universities, and independent consultants from southern provinces. Students will be trained for 12 weeks, including 3 weeks of theory and 9 weeks of practical training (hands-on) at the enterprise.

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade cooperated with Samsung Vietnam to implement many practical and effective programs, contributing to improving the capacity of the supporting industry in Vietnam. Including a cooperation program with Samsung to train consultants in the field of support industry; program “Organizing consulting and technical support to improve production at Vietnamese enterprises in the field of supporting industries and finished product manufacturing”; Cooperation program to train Vietnamese mold experts…
