The central task of developing supporting industries has been receiving special attention from the city. For that reason, under the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Vietnam International Supporting Industry Exhibition 2014
1. Vietnam’s supporting industry today:

- Only meeting 10% of domestic demand, far behind other countries in the region (40-60%), leading to a large trade deficit, negatively impacting the exchange rate.
- Therefore, the organizers hope that the exhibition and specialized seminars held simultaneously at VSI Expo 2014 will create an ideal environment for enhancing trade promotion.
- Help supporting industry enterprises become direct domestic suppliers, minimize imports, gradually export, and participate in the global supply chain
2. Exhibition booth display:

The exhibition attracted over 200 booths from 140 participating businesses, with the participation of production and business companies in the supporting industry sector of Vietnam and foreign countries.

3. Improving competitiveness for industrial enterprises
Support to realize the goal set by the Resolution that by 2025, Vietnamese enterprises will be able to produce highly competitive supporting industry products.
Domestic supporting industry products meet 45% of essential needs for domestic production and consumption, accounting for about 11% of the entire industry’s production value.
